Update: More on this Story
Investigations have come to a close in a story first reported by Yahoo! Sports of the UCONN men’s basketball team violating NCAA rules surrounding the recruitment of a player.
Due to the multiple major recruiting infractions, the committee has deemed the Huskies ineligible for any further games in the 2008-2009 season; therefore forcing the UCONN Huskies to FORFEIT their Final Four match-up against the Michigan State Spartans.
It is not yet clear how the infractions will affect next year’s season, as the committee is still working out final disciplinary actions to take on the team. It is uncertain if the restrictions will affect the entire UCONN athletic program or just the Men’s Basketball Team.
Expect more insight on this story as it develops.
