Top 5 College Football Teams to watch in 2006 |
Here are five teams who struggled last year, but should be bowl contenders this year.
University of Washington A football program that has dwindled in the past few years is showing some rebound. In the 90s UW was a BCS team. While they may not reach that level soon, they will still put up an impressive year, compared to the 2-9 2005 season performance. Coach Tyrone Willingham is repairing damage done by previous coaches.
Arkansas Good Coach, Good Running Back. The Razorbacks will do better than the 4 win-7 loss record they had last year. Beating Alabama definitely helps this years cause. They will be led by Quarterback and top freshman recruit Mitch Mustain.
Michigan State Despite letting Notre Dame come back from way behind in the 4th quarter, Michigan State still has a respectable team. They will defiantly put up a better record than last years 5-6. Drew Stanton should lead them to a bowl appearance.
Arizona State Arizona State has one of the fastest striking offenses in college football. Their fate rests on their defense. If they can hold up, look for a good year with a bowl appearance.
Pittsburg Last year Pittsburg was a sub-500 team. Give Coach Dave Wannstedt some time, and hell have this team to a bowl game.
