College Football Week 4 Preview |
Games to Watch: Week 4
In this week 4 of College Football there are huge games in both the Big Ten & the Pac Ten.
Ohio State vs. Penn State
Arizona State vs. California
#1 Ohio State vs #24 Penn St
Both of these teams have some of the best fans in the game and host some of the largest crowds. Since the game is at Ohio St, they will have thousands of fans to help back them up.
Not only do these teams have some of the best fans in the game, they also have the best coaches with Ohio State’s Jim Tressel and Penn State’s Joe Paterno, who has been with Penn State for 41 years now.
Last year Penn State and Ohio State finished 3rd and 4th respectively at the end of season rankings.
OSU has a couple of Heisman hopefuls on its team this year: QB Troy Smith and WR Ted Ginn.
Ohio State has one of the best backfields in the nation, which will be a good challenge for Penn State, who possesses one of the best Linebacking corps in the nation, led by Butkus award winner Paul Posluszny.
Prediction: Ohio State 34 Penn St 20
#22 Arizona State vs #21 California
Arizona State is a good team.
A great team offensively, but sometimes questionable on defense. Last year ASU was 2nd in the nation to USC in average yards per game. Yet, they were the worst defense in the Pac Ten.
Luckily, this year they got 3 quality Defensive Lineman to transfer in to help out the defense.
However, I don’t know if this will be good enough to stop the California Bears running game, led by Marshawn Lynch.
The Bears passing game will have to produce, in order to take some of the pressure off the run.
The passing game is led by Nate Longshore, who was injured all last year.
The QB toss up in Arizona State is over as Sam Keller has reportedly left the school, leaving the lone responsibility to Rudy Carpenter. Look for TE Zach Miller (best TE in the nation) and multi-positioned Rudy Burgess to have big games.
Prediction: ASU 38 California 24
Other games to watch:
Michigan State vs #12 Notre Dame
Coming off a loss against Michigan, this is a must win game for Notre Dame.
